This piece was made in response to the Covid-19 outbreak. Our relationships have taken on new meanings: our relationships with one another, with door handles, with antibacterials, soaps and cleaning products are now a reminder of a fleeting, ever-changing reality. With this exploration of new material, I embrace our shared reality and pay homage to one of the only objects that have made it possible to touch one another without fear.
Because an homage is due to the inheritor of all of the handshakes and all of the hugs that were meant to be given in 2020: a bar of soap.
